LEGO® Star Wars™ Bust Collection Revealed: Yoda (75438) & Darth Vader (75439)

LEGO is continuing to evolve its display-focused Star Wars lineup with the introduction of a brand-new sub-series: the LEGO Star Wars Bust Collection. Launching this April, the first entries in the range bring two of the saga’s most iconic characters into compact, highly detailed form: Yoda (75438) and Darth Vader (75439).

Sitting somewhere between the helmet series and larger collector builds, these busts offer a fresh way to display Star Wars characters, combining expressive design, smaller footprints and strong shelf presence.

The first of the two reveals focuses on one of the most recognisable figures in the galaxy. The Yoda Bust (75438) captures the Jedi Master as seen in Attack of the Clones, translating his distinctive features into a compact brick-built model.

At 399 pieces, the set balances detail with approachability. Yoda’s head and ears can be adjusted to create subtle changes in expression, while his Lightsaber™ adds a finishing touch. The bust sits on a rotating stand, allowing it to be viewed from multiple angles.

An included Yoda minifigure, also equipped with a Lightsaber, can be displayed alongside the bust.

On the opposite end of the Force, the Darth Vader Bust (75439) brings a darker, more imposing presence to the collection.

Made up of 349 pieces, the build focuses on recreating the clean, angular lines of Vader’s helmet and upper armour, prioritising silhouette and presence over complexity.

The bust features a rotatable head, a display stand with a printed nameplate, and an included Darth Vader minifigure for added display flexibility.

Where Yoda leans expressive, Vader is all about form and authority, making them a strong pairing on display.

LEGO Busts Aren’t New... But These Feel Different

While this might feel like a new direction, LEGO has actually explored bust-style builds for over two decades. The very first example dates back to 2001’s near-life-size Darth Maul bust, with later entries appearing sporadically across both Star Wars and Marvel themes.

More recently, LEGO introduced smaller, display-friendly busts in the Marvel range, including Iron Man and Spider-Man, which helped shape the modern format we see today.

So what makes this new Star Wars wave different?

These new busts are far more compact and accessible than earlier versions, moving away from the large-scale or convention-exclusive models that were often harder to obtain or display. They also feel intentionally designed as part of a cohesive collection, rather than standalone releases, signalling LEGO’s commitment to building this into an ongoing series. Another key difference is the inclusion of minifigures as standard, adding an extra layer of collectability. Finally, while they share some DNA with the Helmet Collection, these busts place a greater emphasis on character expression and personality, giving them a more dynamic presence on display.

Designed to Collect

Both sets are positioned as part of the LEGO Star Wars Bust Collection, suggesting more characters could follow in future waves. Compared to the helmet series, these builds are smaller and more character-driven, making them easier to display as a group.

They also offer a different kind of building experience, less about technical complexity, more about shaping recognisable forms in a compact space.

For collectors, this opens up the possibility of building a line-up of iconic characters without needing the space required for larger sets.
